Footnotes

“Praise for Total Foot Health,
I have nothing but praise for Total Foot Health and have been a regular visitor to their premises for several years. The staff are always very warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The treatments that they offer are exceptional and the ones that I have received have been excellent. I would definitely highly recommend them.”

FACE MASKS

Face Masks in Clinic

We would like to send a polite reminder that within healthcare we are still required to wear masks within the clinic. It would be really helpful if all our patients could bring their mask to wear when they come for their appointment.

Since the restrictions changed last month, we have had an increasing number of patients arriving without a mask which we have subsequently supplied. Whilst we recognise that on occasion mask break and are happy to help, if we continue to supply as many as we are doing at the moment then we may be forced to make a small charge which is something we are keen to avoid.

Thank you for your continued support.

NATIONAL FEET WEEK

124c38b6-2ccd-6c75-1217-5b097c8610a2
This week is National Feet Week and its main aim is to raise awareness about foot health and encourage us all to take care of our feet. Whilst we rush to the garage when our cars begin to show signs of concern for fear of the dreaded breakdown, we tend to be less proactive when it comes to our feet. Yet, in reality, we rely on our feet for the majority of our daily activity and consequently they deserve the same level of care and attention. So, for redial or preventative foot care we at Total Foot Health are primed and ready to help.

In addition to seeing your Total Foot Health podiatrist, you can invest in a few ‘self-care’ steps to help maintain healthy feet:

We have a range of foot creams, foot files and nail clippers available from our reception so why not check your supply and top up when you come in for your next visit.

To book your appointment either call us on 01722 340057 or alternatively click here to book online.

INCREASE TO OUR FEES WITH EFFECT FROM MONDAY 4TH APRIL 2022

INCREASE TO OUR FEES WITH EFFECT FROM MONDAY 4th APRIL 2022

As of Monday 4th April, we will be introducing an increase to our treatment charges. This is the first increase we have made since 2019.

Throughout the pandemic we have absorbed the additional fees we incurred for the additional PPE required and the increased costs in purchasing medical equipment required within your treatment. However, we are continuing to experience further increases in the cost of essential medical equipment and supplies together with our general operating costs. As you would expect, we have sought to find the most cost-effective suppliers without reducing the quality which would impact on patient care. Additionally, from the first of April we will incur the additional cost of the raising of employer contributions in National Insurance. Consequently, despite our best efforts we are no longer able to resit the need for an increase in treatment charges.

From Monday 4th April consultation fees will be as follows:
Podiatry:
Initial assessment £85.00
Follow-up appointment: £64.00

Musculoskeletal/Biomechanical (MSK)
MSK New assessment/gait analysis: £190.00
MSK Follow-up: £105.00

Rehabilitation Treatments (Chris Ball)
Initial Assessment: £95.00
Follow-up appointment (45 Min): £68.00

We would all like to thank you for your support and understanding with this and look forward to seeing you in clinic soon.

AFTER A STERIOD INJECTION

477229cc-a22e-4ff4-bb3e-31e27eb3ae69

What is it like After a Steroid Injection into a Neuroma?

The Same day

I am pleased to say that it is bliss! The local anaesthesia means that there is no discomfort, and because of the need to rest, it means that you can enjoy being looked after!

The Next Two days

The area is quite sore, but only when you put pressure on it. It may look a little red on the top of the foot as well- due to the reaction to the steroid. You are not likely to be able to walk very far, just around the house. Another lovely couple of days being looked after. Lots of time to catch up on reading or films!

The Following Week

The soreness will gradually settle down. After 7 days of limited activity, I was able to walk for 20 minutes with my walking boots on with no problems.

The Following few weeks

Patience is needed because the steroids will slowly take their effect on the neuroma, making the tissue soften and the discomfort will slowly disappear. I suddenly realised that I was not thinking about my foot at all, and was able to walk with no problems.
