ACCREDITED PRACTICE STATUS AWARDED BY THE COLLEGE OF PODIATRY
What is Accredited Practice Status?
Accredited Practice Status is a recognition of quality standards awarded by the College of Podiatry.
Total Foot Health is an accredited practice by the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, something we are all very proud of.
To achieve this status, we are required to reviewed our practice standards to ensure that they comply with national standards and best practice within the profession.
This process is rigorous requiring our self- review to be audited by another ‘accredited podiatrist’.
Additionally, prior to accreditation being granted we must agree to the practice being inspected by independent inspectors appointed by the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.
Why did Total Foot Health Apply for Accredited status?
We applied for Practice Accreditation because we feel that our patients have the right to be confident that their care is being provided within a safe environment. Not that the scheme is only concerned with the clinical environment it also, amongst other things, ensures that:
- single use instruments that are guaranteed 100% sterile and traceable
- staff engage in continuing professional development so as to keep their knowledge and skills up to date
- patient confidentiality is respected and proper care is taken with patient information
- we explain treatment options, where appropriate, and cost so that you can make an informed choice
- appropriate referral pathways exist for patients who need specialist care
- practice working methods are constantly reviewed.
We therefore feel that you can be confident in the care that you receive within this practice.
HCPC REGISTERED
The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is a statutory regulator for health and care professions in the United Kingdom. The council sets standards to ensure that professionals practise safely, legally and effectively. Only those who are appropriately qualified are able to register with HCPC. All our podiatrists at Total Foot Health are HCPC registered so you can be sure of the standards of care you will receive.
SOUTH WEST BUSINESS OF THE YEAR 2016
Total Foot Health was the recipient of the South West Business of the Year Award in 2016. The award is given to business in recognition of delivering excellence in Wiltshire.
THE HIVE PRACTICE AWARDS 2019
We are very pleased to have received the Hive Practice Award 2019 as Alumnus of the Year in recognition of our work within the organisation to share and develop Podiatry across a spectrum of practices.
