Salisbury Half MarahonOn Sunday 9 October the first ever Salisbury half marathon event was held, which was proclaimed a huge success by all who took part either as competitors or support team. The weather was beautifully sunny without being excessively hot and this, combined with the flat course, produced a very fast time for the winners.  Congratulations to Salisbury running club’s own Aaron Wilson who won the men’s senior race and to Claire Morris of the Ealing Eagles Athletics Club, who hails from Salisbury, who won the ladies race.  Total Foot Health provided a free first aid and advice marquee for helping those athletes with tired, bruised, battered and blistered feet. We did actually see some quite impressive injuries on the day including ankle sprains, which we were able to stabilise with taping techniques, Achilles tendonitis and one broken leg that we sent to A&E for plastering!  We have already been invited back for next year to support this wonderful event.

The charities chosen were the Stars Appeal and Help for Heroes, again two very worthy local organisations.
