Total Foot Health - Andrea MemoryAndrea will be a very familiar face to anyone who has been a patient at Total Foot Health. She is our longest serving ‘front of house’ team member, having been a receptionist since we moved to the Brown Street site in 2008.  I remember very well the day of her interview when her cheerful, friendly and calm personality shone through; no matter how hard I tried, it was impossible to fluster her.  So, what is it like on the front line at Total Foot Health?

Let Andrea tell us in her own words: “Working as a receptionist is a really enjoyable experience as I get to know the patients who come to us for our help really well. I feel it is part of my role to help make people feel at ease when they are waiting to see the podiatrist. This is particularly so with new patients who may be worried about their problems or even embarrassed by their feet. It has been lovely getting to know many of our long term patients, some of whom I have now been seeing for the best part of ten years.

One of the challenging parts of my role is liaising with our supply companies to make sure that our clinics are fully stocked with the correct equipment and products. Even over the telephone it is amazing how relationships can develop over time.

It is very important to me that I am able to help look after our patients and other team members. Part of this is making sure the tea rota is sorted out! It is always very nice when people bring in cakes to celebrate special occasions. I have been known to bake a pretty mean Victoria sponge which, for some reason, never lasts for very long. Working at Total Foot Health is a real team experience as we are all committed to looking after our patients, and each other, in the best way possible.”
