Edward Henstridge trained at Southampton University where he graduated with a BSc degree with honours in 1999, this was in addition to a degree in sports science obtained from the University of Manchester. This is where he first considered a career in podiatry whilst recovering from a serious leg injury that sadly put an end to his dreams of playing hockey at the highest levels. Edward has extensive experience in both NHS and private podiatry particularly in the role of MSk care of the foot and leg. He has the honour of also being involved in the podiatry team that helped support the 2012 London Olympics, an experience that he found both challenging and highly rewarding.
His MSk work has also allowed him to work with elite level athletes from a variety of sports and this experience allows him to understand the demands that sport requires of the individual. By applying this knowledge throughout our patient cohort Edward knows he will be able to help us offer care to all of us irrespective of our level of activity.
Away from the clinic Edward has a young family and, as he says, although he is not as quick as he once was he still continues to enjoy hockey and plays to a good level at the Newbury and Thatcham Hockey club. He is also one of the main driving forces behind the Newbury real ale festival which is the largest of its kind in the country – this sounds like a very good trip out!
