Mortons Neuroma“I went to my GP initially with a crushing pain in my toes which occurred during and after sports. I had been suffering this pain for about twelve months and it was seriously affecting my activities.

My GP referred me on to Mr Jones who was very professional and explained the reason I was getting the pain and the treatment available. He diagnosed me with a neuroma, which is a fibrous thickening from the nerve to the long bones in my foot. Mr Jones was very understanding to my concerns and answered all my questions in simple non-medical language.

I was not worried about having surgery under local anaesthetic. If it meant I could be pain free afterwards I was happy to give it a go. There was a little discomfort during surgery, but no pain at all. I experienced some pain afterwards though, and I expected that, but after two weeks I could wear my shoes and at about four weeks after surgery I was back to light activity.

The whole experience was absolutely fine for me. I did not experience any problems at all. My foot has now returned to normal and I am enjoying my sport again.”
